This is the oldest bridge ever built on the river. It dates back to more than 2000 yrs ago. Unfortunately, it's not being maintained to the level it should. Bt, it's definitely worth a visit.

On my journey through Iran I visited this impressive bridge and was again surprised by the fact what the Persians were able to build up long time ago. Beautiful place ...

Shahrestan bridge is the oldest bridge on Zayandeh Rud in Iran. The foundations are from the 3rd to 7th century Sasanian era, but the top was renovated in the 10th century by the Buyids and finally during the 11th century Seljuk period. However the architectural style is totally Sasanian. The bridge was built in two parabolic shapes.

Nothing spectacular taking into consideration how far/long you have to walk/drive to it from the center. Worth seeing though if interested in history of isfahan.
