DPART (Department for Planning and Assessment of Research and Technology) of Sharif University of Technology (SUT), Iran, was established in Feb 2015 under directorate of Dr. Ali Maleki as a strategic planning, assessment and think body aiding Research and Technology Vice-Chancellery of the university. Pursuant to it, a high-level Ranking Committee has been established to aid the presidency in strategic matters. So far, DPART has provided more than a dozen of scientific reports regarding the status of the university in International Rankings (such as Times, Shanghai, QS, US News, Leiden, Webometrics, URAP, ISC and Scimago), which distinctively set a comprehensive and consistent image (comparative status and trend) out of all rankings via six dimensions of research, education, international outlook, industry, collaboration and web presence. DPART is currently engaged with the first comprehensive field-based ranking report of the university in which the status of each department and major is determined by four rankings of URAP, US News, Shanghai and QS. In addition, DPART has started systematic evaluation of the research centers, diagnosis and modification of current policy documents including Quality of Research, Grant and Research Performance of the faculty, communication with ranking institutes for better understanding the mechanisms and pitfalls, and participating in regional and international higher education events. The upcoming agenda includes development of new interdisciplinary courses and institutions, design of training of the faculty and students regarding best research practices of social media, publication quality and quantity improvement, international collaboration and RRI (Responsible Research and Innovation). دفتر برنامه ریزی و ارزیابی پژوهش و فناوری دانشگاه صنعتی شریف در بهمن 1394 تحت مدیریت دکتر علی ملکی به عنوان بازوی فکری، و برنامه ریزی راهبردی و ارزیابی معاونت پژوهش و فناوری دانشگاه تاسیس گردید.
