The National Museum of Iran (Persian: موزهٔ ملی ایران\u200e Mūze-ye Melli-ye Irān) is located in Tehran, Iran. It is an institution formed of two complexes; the Museum of Ancient Iran and the Museum of Islamic Archaeology and Art of Iran, which were opened in 1937 and 1972, respectively.

A diverse collection of artifacts that traces the history of Iran from stone-age times right up to Cyrus, Darius and the great Persian kingdoms. Some of the exhibits are phenomenal!

I enjoyed both the pre- and post-Islamic sections. The displayed items were very precious and interesting. There was a doll from 10000 years ago. Just wow.

The museum is very interesting for the last century History. But for the oldest years are poor, if you look for this years go in Turkey, Urfa or Ankara. Also the inside is too old, and need some update.

Много интересен музей! Добре изложени артефакти, но лошо осветление за снимане! Is is a great museum. The presentation to artefact is good but the lightning is not good for taking pictures

National museum of Iran reviews the whole span of history of the land of Iran from Neanderthal inhabitant era to Pahlavi dynasty. Pay attention that all historical objects and monument related to before Arab invasion are presented in Iran-Bastan building and history of the dynasties after this invasion are described in the second building called Islamic era. The museum is open in spring and summer until seven and in fall and winter until five. I highly recommend to gain an overview of Persia/Iran history.

Factual, albeit dry descriptions in English. Islamic part is both cheaper and more interesting. Both take 2-3 hours. It's worth visiting. Nice souvenir shop.
