An unexpected gem rather hidden in Shiraz. Inside, youll see the mirror decorations with colourful lighting that is so popular in Iranian shrines, as well as a huge hall roofed with a self-bearing dome (no columns). Volunteer guides will walk you through the shrine, it was an amazing and unexpected experience.

not as spectacular as you would expect, but still really nice. 200000 irr for the ticket. better go there just after opening at 730 because later it gets crowded.

Astana (Tomb of Sayyed Alaeddin Hussein) a son of Imam Musa Kazem and brother of Shah Cheragh is located in Astana Square, southeast of Shiraz, in the BalaKaft neighborhood. In the late eighth and early ninth centuries, the original building was built. In 1329 the dome of the building, which was damaged several times by various accidents removed and a new dome with a steel structure installed. Currently the dome is covered with mosaic tiles and surrounded by colorful tiles of flowers.

One of the 3 most important holy shrines in Iran. Free entry and (mandatory) guide for visitors. Bags and cameras are not allowed inside but phones are ok. The guides are quite knowledgeable and help visitors get a better understanding of the place and religion in Iran. A must in Shiraz. Unfortunately entry to actual shrine (with its actual impressive decoration) does not seem to be allowed for non Muslims, but this is loosely enforced so you might want to try your luck...
