We are witnessing a rapid change in contemporary architecture which affects theory, design and fabrication, and in general, the whole discipline. It can be seen as a movement under the influence of information technologies and computer science. This movement has affected architectural education as well. Architectural education in academics undergoes some changes and informal education gains attention through the work of design studios in the format of workshops. The flexible and updating situation of the new tools and techniques, enabled the informal education of architecture to be as efficient as the academics. In parallel to the current movements of architecture and related educational programs, CRAFT presents an extensive pedagogy of education with concentration on new design tools and techniques, digital fabrication technologies and related design-research methodologies. While presenting the basic knowledge, CRAFT would try to utilize the theory in application through the realization of ideas in one to one scale projects. Each project would question a challenge and the aim of the CRAFT would be to search the possible approaches, material systems, design proposals and in general, research methods to take the challenge. CRAFT will also host lectures and meetings in the related fields to present other voices of practitioners as well. In response to the changing parameters of the discipline and to qualify creative designers, CRAFT would try to Computationally Rethink Architecture and Fabrication Technologies.
